Your Questions,
Answered
-
Your first step is a free 15-minute initial chat - no pressure and no commitment, just a chance to see if we're a good fit and to answer any questions you have. You might be nervous or don’t know what to talk about yet. That’s okay - we’ll figure it out together!
If it feels right to continue, we'll schedule a full session and take things from there at your pace.

As a PACFA-accredited counsellor, I'm not currently eligible to offer Medicare rebates. To keep things accessible, my fees are set to reflect the typical out-of-pocket cost of seeing a psychologist under a Mental Health Care Plan, once the Medicare rebate is applied. See the 'Services' page for full pricing.
You may still be eligible for a rebate through your private health insurance extras cover - please check directly with your provider.
-
Please give me at least 24hours’ notice through text or email if you can’t make it to our session or would like to reschedule. Cancellations or no-shows with less than 24 hours’ notice will be charged the full session fee, as that time has been set aside specifically for you.
Please note this fee isn't eligible for a private health insurance rebate.

Yes.
What you share with me stays private and is treated with care. I keep brief session notes, securely stored on a platform only I can access (you’re welcome to ask to see your own notes at any time). Please note: there are rare situations in which I’m legally required to disclose information even if you don’t consent to it. If this ever came up, I’d do my best to talk it through with you first.

Formal assessments and diagnoses are outside a counsellor's scope and are typically done by a psychologist or psychiatrist.
What counselling offers instead is a space to explore what you're experiencing, build understanding, and work through it together - with or without a diagnosis. If you're already going through an assessment, or have received a diagnosis, I'm very happy to support you during the process or alongside it - you don't need to navigate it alone.

Absolutely - I welcome referrals and connections with other professionals. Reach out anytime at hello@innercompasswestside.com.au and I aim to get back to you within 48h.
